Van Houten Cocoa VH12 1kg
In 1806 Van Houten opened a coffee and spice store in Amsterdam and in 1815 he started chocolate production in Amsterdam by the company in the name of Van Houten.
In 1828 he patented the hydraulic cocoa press and reduced cocoa butter by half by replacing it with a lighter, more nutritious and more soluble cocoa powder.
In 1846, he patented a production process that obtained cocoa powder with an intense chocolate flavor, mixed with alkaline salts that made it dissolve better in water.
In 1865 the cocoa was packaged in cans. From 1917-60 new factories were opened all over the world.
